“ I've been coming here for almost 10 years now and it never disappoints! The base veggies have changed over the years, but it always has potatoes, onions, celery, cilantro, and tofu skin. Right now there is also cabbage and bell peppers. The dry pots are always flavorful, but leans toward the salty and oily side. We usually get the DIY pot (3 free items) and get sliced beef, fish fillet (fried), and wide vermicelli or potato. The large size is meant for 2 people but I would say it's 3x the regular (single) size. No frills interior and service. ”
“ Customer for 3 years already. Love their happy farm great spicy level. Vibe is just ok tho. ”
“ I used to come a little bit more often in person, but since I've become a parent, sometimes I can't easily get out of the house. Hi Pot is an amazing option if you have to do takeout or delivery. The food stays really well on its journey to my home and into my stomach. I always get the DIY Spice Pot as it's delicious no matter what I decide to put in there. The only thing is I wonder if I'm getting less in the takeout container than in the store. This is my go-to for dry pot! (Granted I've never actually tried their hot pot because I like their dry pot so much I never thought of trying anything else) During my last visit to Hi Pot, we went pretty early around 5:30pm and we couldn't find the waitress. She came out like 10 minutes later and seated us, but it was sort of strange to just leave the whole restaurant empty when it was open for business. Anyways, 6:30pm or so, tables started filling up and they became harder to flag for other reasons than absence. In general, it definitely resembles a mom and pop shop with simple decor, tables and chairs. The fish tank no longer has fish in it -- RIP fishies. ”
“ I've been looking for a solid reasonably priced dry malaxiangguo place in the bay. There were a few parties inside on a late weekend evening, so the ambience was calm and people were still eating together. Service was reasonably fast. We ordered the Lazy Guy Spice Pot for two which came out sizzling hot and sizable enough with room to share with leftovers. For those who haven't tried before, dry hot pot (malaxiangguo) is a stir-fried fragrant mix of meats, vegetables, tofu, and spices. Everything in the dry mix was seasoned perfectly and went well with the side of rice. Hi Pot is now my new go-to Chinese spot in Cupertino. Prices were reasonable too around $20-25 per person. Will have to check them out again for lunch when they serve complimentary rice and tea! ”
“ I had the medium miso and it was perfect. I will certainly be back during the cold late fall and winter seasons. There can be a long line, so come early. Also, parking is a little challenging for the Cupertino restaurant. ”
“ First time trying dry pot, which is essentially hot pot ingredients stir fried and served in a fragrant blend of bloomed spices. I'm not a fan of mala hot pot because of the prevalence of Szechuan peppercorns, so this was a welcome variation. The flavor is definitely pronounced, and there's a good amount of oil in there so I'd recommend rice on the side to help absorb the grease. It is a bit pricy for even a small if you decide to add a few things per the add on menu (I added beef tendon meatballs, fish tofu, and lotus root) and rice isn't free at dinner time. However, the portion they serve you even with the small is really big, and I think 2 people could easily split one. Unfortunately, they forgot to add the fish tofu in mine. I'd definitely come back though! It's a unique dish that I feel they execute well. ”
“ Food (4.65/5): The dry spice pot is so yummy! If you come during lunch, there's a special that includes plum tea and rice with your order. The plum tea is a bit sweet, but hey it's free. And the rice complements the flavorful spice pot well. The food is about $20, but it's so much food and well worth the price. Service (4.3/5): The staff take your order and bring food to you. They seem nice and refill your water if you ask. Ambiance (4.35/5): There is a good amount of indoor seating and Chinese decor on the walls. The restaurant and bathroom were clean. There's a fish tank in the front ”
